Reading the evidence
Evidence types
| Type | What it means |
|---|---|
declared | Named in the company's own subprocessor list. Strongest. |
mentioned | Named in its privacy policy, with a role when one is clear. |
detected | Loaded by its website or running its public job board, with the signal we saw. |
hiring | Asked for in open job postings, repeatedly or once. |
Confidence and level
confidence combines the evidence types, counting each once, and old evidence fades. level turns it into confirmed, likely or possible. How we grade sources.
List status
| Value | Meaning |
|---|---|
active | We read and validated a public list. |
not_found | We found no public list. The company may share one privately. |
gated | The list is available on request, so we do not have it. |
blocked | The site did not let us read it. |
empty_list | The page names no one. The only status that means that. |
parse_failed | We could not validate the page, so we show nothing rather than guess. |
held | A change is being re-checked before we publish it. |
stale_since means the source changed and we could not yet validate the new version, so the data may lag.
What missing data means
Our coverage is partial. Not finding a vendor never means a company does not use it, so never treat an empty result as a "no".
